Research IT partners with many units across campus. Our partners are key contributors to the development and success of the portal. Each one providing resources in a variety of ways. One key component of the Research IT Portal’s success is the work done by our advisory group.
Technology Services at Illinois is the provider of campus-wide computing, networking, storage, communications, and instructional technology services at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Technology Services partners with campus to provide world-class, innovative, cost effective technologies and services that help foster discoveries and innovations from our researchers, transform the teaching and learning experiences of faculty and students, and improve the efficiency and security of the university's processes and data.
The OVCR provides leadership and oversight for research at Illinois. In addition to overarching planning, policy development, and management, the OVCR provides guidance for portfolio units and works to promote coordination, lead change, and ensure modern and compliant processes and professional services.
We do this by:
- Promoting and enabling excellence in existing and emerging research programs.
- Supporting and operating administrative structures required for our research enterprise.
- Overseeing the efforts of the campus-wide interdisciplinary research institutes.
The University Library is central to the intellectual life of the University. The National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA) is a hub of transdisciplinary research and digital scholarship where University of Illinois faculty, staff, and students, and collaborators from around the globe, unite to address research grand challenges for the benefit of science and society.
The Center also provides integrated cyberinfrastructure—computing, software, data, networking, and visualization resources and expertise that are essential to the work of scientists, engineers, and scholars at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and across the country.
Engineering IT Shared Services is the primary IT services provider for Engineering at Illinois. Our mission is to ensure that all faculty, students and staff in the College have easy and well supported access to IT services that are second to none in support of their teaching, research, and learning. We pride ourselves on our user-centric approach to IT, with emphasis on effectiveness, flexibility, and transparency.
