Regulated Research at Illinois

University’s Regulated Research Data Program

The Regulated Research Program at Illinois supports researchers by ensuring compliance with evolving federal standards. Launched in 2023 through a partnership between Technology Services/OCIO, Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation (OVCRI) and National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA), the program provides guidance, tools, and secure environment(s) for regulated research. The program strives to build better visibility and support mechanisms to ensure researchers remain eligible for federally funded projects.

This program is overseen by the Regulated Research Data Compliance Committee, which provides governance and oversight for CUI-related activities across campus.
