Amazon Glacier is a secure, durable, and extremely low-cost cloud storage service for data archiving and long-term backup. Amazon Glacier provides three options for access to archives, from a few minutes to several hours.

< $500 / TB / year
Limitations
Maximum individual file size: 5 Tb
Space allowed per individual user: No overall limit (costs incurred)
Space allowed per group: No overall limit (costs incurred)
No practical limit to number of files.

Initial setup and advanced usage requires local IT support.
Eligibility:
- Any member of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a CFOP for the monthly fees
- Members of other institutions
Allowed:
- Public data
- Sensitive / moderate risk data
Allowed with special configuration:
- Confidential or restricted / high risk data
- FERPA-protected data
- HIPAA-regulated data
Not allowed:
- Export-controlled information
