Anything else I need to know?

The AD provides a secure central authentication mechanism based on Kerberos, used by many enterprise apps (SiteMinder, UC-Exchange, UC-Lync, Illinois Compass). AD can also provide central authorization through the use of LDAP security groups used for access control or email lists. Centralized configuration streamlines the various campus units IT management of multiple servers and endpoints.
