Users can authenticate to many services using a familiar interface and single password. Single sign-on means users can log into many Shibboleth-protected services without having to enter their NetID and password each time. Standards-based technology makes it easy for IT pros to integrate Shibboleth for logins into their in-house and commercially developed web applications. Support for federation means that users can securely log into web applications hosted at other universities or in the cloud using their campus NetID and password.
